Despite battling early injuries and playing down a man to a red card, the ASC New Stars took the Laredo Heat to overtime on Tuesday night, eventually losing 2-4.
They had to use two subs in the first 15 minutes, which took its toll against a very fit Laredo side. Summing up the heart that the New Stars put into the match, Peter Kozolowski had a world class scissors-kick goal in the 93rd minute to tie the game. But playing down a man and running out of substitutions were the New Stars’ downfall in the last bit of 120 minutes of play.
Now the team regroups to focus on the USASA National Open Championship in July in Chicago. We wish them the best of luck in their continued quest.
