Match RECAP: United Grenadiers The score line is perhaps an unfair reflection on how well the Cal-Comm Elite played. Grenadiers started in the United traditional way: slow but with meticulous passes that moved the ball around the field pretty well. Both teams had their chances up until the middle of the first half when Steven sacrifices himself jumping for a dangerous ball with the goalkeeper and probably two defenders. He scored and that gave us a surplus of energy to fight in the midfield and in the back where most the work was done by Alex, Anel, Todd and Collin. The midfielders: Alvaro, Sammy, Edgar and Osman fought hard for each ball and passed it around to keep control of the game and to move the ball up for Ned or Steven. Cal-Comm Elite had their share of chances but Henry proved to be unbeatable today.
Second half changes (Ronnie, Richard, Lewis and Omar) kept us in attacking position but it was again Steven who scored another goal from his midfield position. Saul’s labor brought confidence and creativity in the game and created opportunities for Bayron and Flaco who each scored and establish the final result.
Overall it was a really good performance where the attack looked talented and dangerous and the defense strong and reliable.
