2018 Regular League Hotter Than Hell

The 2018 Hotter Than Hell league will begin on June 24.  We will have 4 divisions of 6 teams so teams will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.  Each team will play 5 games.  Each game will be 40-min halves.  All games will be play on Sundays at George Bush Park at 8am and 10am.  The team fee is $550 with referee fees of $75 per game.  Team Application deadline is June 13th with player registration deadline of June 18th.

HFA Dynamo Night 6/9

This Saturday night is HFA Night at the Dynamo game.  The Dynamo kickoff at 8pm against Tim Howard and the Colorado Rapids.  Our Dynamo rep, Jay Adelberg, should have already reached out to each of you with free tickes.  If you have not heard from him, his email is jadelberg@houstondynamo.com and his office line is 713-276-7529.

HFA will be tailgating before the game in Lot C right next to the stadium starting at 5:30pm.  All are welcome to join and enjoy free food and beverages before heading into the stadium.  We will also be handing out champion, runner-up and golden boot trophies at the tailgate.

 
HFA Player & Referee Loss

It is with great sadness to inform you of the passing of an ASC and HFA family member, Jamshid Pourghaed. He was one of the founders of the ASC club 43 years ago. He played in Div 3B and refereed in HFA for many years.  He will be missed greatly.

 
HFA Car Break-Ins

On Sunday (9/24), several cars at HSP were broken into.  We have notified the staff at HSP but please do not leave any valuables in your car while you are playing.  It doesn't matter what park you are playing at, this sort of thing seems to happen every year.  If you see anybody suspicious in the parking lot, please notify a park staff member immediately.

2017 Spring O40 Season

Hello O40 Managers and Prospective O40 Teams,

The 2017 Spring O40 Season will begin on March 7, 2017.  The expected end date for this season is sometime in May depending on rainouts.  The divisions and team fee will be based upon the number of teams who submit a team application.  These will be announced on January 30, 2017 which is the team application deadline.  Please see the team application link below.

Player Registration Deadlines

Regular League:  Wednesdays by 5pm

O30 League:  Monday by 5pm

O40 League:  Saturday by 5pm

 

This means every piece of information needed to register a player (i.e. online registration complete, copy of DL and headshot) has to be turned in by the deadline.  If they are not turned in on time, they will not be guaranteed approved for the upcoming game.  As a reminder, if a player is not on your gameday roster, he cannot play.  If he does, you face a forfeit, fine and suspension from the Disciplinary Committee.

 
2016-2017 HFA Fees

The Board of Directors has set the 2016-2017 team fees for the regular league, O30 league and O40 league at $1,900 for returning teams and $2,100 for new teams.  The fee for registering players over your 18 man roster will remain at $30 per player and the referee fees will also remain at $65 per game.  Credit cards will be charged in August and I'll send another email before they are charged to give you a heads up.

 
Player Cards

Hello Managers,

 

Starting the 2016-17 season, on a trial basis, player cards will no longer be used for league play.  Instead, all game day rosters will be required to be printed in color and the pictures on the game day rosters will be used for identification purposes.  As this is on a trial basis, please do not throw away your existing player cards.  If we go back to using player cards, we will use those player cards again.

 

Also, if you are team planning on playing in out of town tournaments and need player cards for that, please keep your existing player cards and when the time comes, I will be able to get stickers to you to update your player cards.

 

Our goal here is to streamline the check-in process for both teams and referees so games can start on time all while still preventing inelligible players from playing.  Also, since we are not making player cards, player registration is now a 100% online process.  We will have no registration meeting or appointment times like we have had in the past.  To register a player, you will now only need to have the player register via Bonzi and send me a copy of their Driver's License and a head shot for your game day roster.  I will be picky on the head shot so please make sure it is only a picture of their face.  I will not accept anything that shows their shoulders.  I will also be comparing these head shots to their Driver's License to make sure they are the same person.
