For 19 years HFA has put on a well-run, organized tournament that offers great competition at every level. The tournament is usually held the last weekend of March with occasional changes for the Easter holiday. Here's how it normally works:
Divisions: There are four or five divisions: Open, Second, Third, Over 30s and Over 40s, depending on the number of applications received. Divisions will be based on previous tournament standings and league standings.
Prizes: To attract the best teams across the Southwest and the whole country, the Open Division awards $1000 to the winner, along with a team trophy and individual player award. The Open runner-up team gets $500 and a team trophy. All other division winners will receive a team trophy, $500 cash prize and individual player award. Runners-up will receive a team trophy and $250.
Fees: HFA uses a rolling entry fee system. We accept cashier’s check or money orders made out to HFA, and all major credit cards. No applications accepted after March 15.
Games: All teams are guaranteed at least three games, weather permitting. All preliminary games will be 30-minute halves.
Guest players: All teams can have 3 guest players. Exceptions for O30s: 2 players under 30 allowed, but older than 28; up to 5 total guest players. Exceptions for O40s: 2 players under 40, but older than 35; up to 5 total guest players.
